author : Sandy Mayes

It has been several months since Works In Progress put out a call for one or more people to step into its central coordination role. That long-awaited dream has now been realized in two highly revered Olympia activists, Janet Blanding and Wally Cuddeford, who together will coordinate the content and production of this newspaper. Now that the April issue has gone to press, Janet and Wally are eager to dive in.

That's the good news. The other news is that Works In Progress is out of money. Our dedication to keeping this all-volunteer staffed, free community newspaper rolling off the presses each month has kept us far too busy to organize a big fundraising extravaganza. Instead, at this time, we are simply asking readers for donations. (Unless you'd like to organize a big fundraising extravaganza.)

If you are someone who values this resource personally and recognizes its value to the community as a whole, please contribute what you can. And if possible, please do it now because now is when we need it.

Send checks to:

Works In Progress, PO Box 295, Olympia, WA 98507

Or click on the "support wip" link at http://www.olywip.org for instructions on donating through PayPal.

The May issue of Works In Progress will be our 17-year anniversary edition. With your support, this cherished grassroots media resource will continue to thrive through its eighteenth year and well beyond.

With love for this project and the struggle it serves,

Sandy
