Brian,
This is my moment as an American, as a voter, to shape the future of our world. I’m amazed and saddened that you’ve chosen a pro-conflict role in world history. You’ve made a fundamental shift in alliances, and humanity, perhaps for generations, will now be suffering directly by your hand. You’re playing the inside game of the rich and powerful. The people on all sides in Iraq become chess pieces; the important people are the politicos and business executives who conquer, nation-build and create wealth.
Is it possible that you’ve experienced things your constituents will never see; heard “secret” information that supports your conclusions? Certainly. Is it also possible that the war-making perspective is sold with biased beliefs, unfounded fears and hidden interests and agendas? Yep.
My duty as a citizen at this time in history...the most important moment in my life as a free person in a democratic society...is to vote for, advocate for and fund a progressive candidate for Congress who will represent me and work against the political-economic machinery of war. Apparently, you are now the political-economic machinery of war.
An American occupying force and our hand-picked puppet government are not going to stem the tide of historical human conflict in the Middle East. We are fueling the conflict. You are fueling the conflict. It is horrendous that anyone dies because of America’s political and economic ambitions. However, more people will die under your plan than under an expeditious end to international aggression.
Brian, I’m copying this message to many people throughout our congressional district because I haven’t received any response to my recent critical correspondence about your activities, and I’m not sure you even read your mail. I am disappointed in you, to say the least, and angered by my federal government for sure. I can’t really say “I am ashamed to be an American,” so long as I have the freedom to say “I am ashamed to be an American.” But I ain’t a happy American.
Sadly,
Curt Pavola,
Lifelong 3rd Congressional District
Resident
