Briana Waters Sentenced as Terrorist

Briana Waters was sentenced to six years in prison and three years probation on July 19 in Tacoma. She did receive the terrorism enhancement. The judge recommended

her to Dublin. Judge denied appeal bond and also the ability to self surrender.

Judge Burgess commented on the over 250 letters he received on Briana?s behalf. Neil Fox, Ms. Waters? attorney, argued that the average of both Washington and Oregon cases was one and a half years per arson. Mr. Fox argued for five years with serving one and half suspending three and a half. The prosecution argued for ten years.

Briana Waters spoke eloquently on her behalf. There were a dozen supporters for Briana Waters in the court room.

Due to the large amount of mail she has been receiving,

Briana has asked that people hold off from sending her mail unless they actually know her personally.

All the support is very appreciated, and to find out more, please go to supportbriana.org

Citizens Movement to Impeach Bush/Cheney meeting

June 30, 7 p.m., Mixx-96 meeting room at SW corner of State & Washington, downtown Oly.

The Citizens Movement to Impeach Bush/Cheney (www.CitizensImpeach) has been active since 2006, and we have accomplished a lot.

Now we need to figure out what to do next ? in the immediate future, during the remaining seven months that Bush & Cheney are scheduled to remain in office, and perhaps after next January.

Should we ?lay down? the organization? Should we persist? Should we organize a new campaign to indict Bush & Cheney for war crimes and other criminal offenses

after they leave office in January? What other options exist? What would be useful and effective? (We are not partisan, so electioneering is not an option.)

Vote on military aid to Israel approaches

We?ve just learned that the House and Senate committees

that have jurisdiction over foreign aid will be voting soon on military aid to Israel for FY2009.

The House and Senate Appropriations Subcommittees

on State, Foreign Operations, and Related Programs will ?mark-up? the foreign aid bill on July 16 and 17, respectively, which includes the President?s request for $2.55 billion in Foreign Military Financing (FMF) for Israel.

Take Action

on these subcommittees.

2. Have your organization endorse our sign-on letter

to these subcommittees.

3. Sign up for an organizing packet to challenge military aid to Israel in your community.

4. Schedule a meeting with your Members of Congress

for the August recess.

5. Save the date-July 14-as a national call-in day.
