August 2018 — About this issue

In this issue you’ll get a glimpse of some ways that Olympia neighborhoods promote healthy social and political life and a reminder that we have neighbors beyond the ones next door. We have neighbors who demonstrate against Trump administration practices of taking children from their parents, children demanding that cars obey stop signs, firefighters taking seriously the neighbor’s call to save a girl’s cat, food activists mixing ice cream and advocacy, a neighbor creating a servicing station for bike riders… capped by an interview with organizers of a lively neighborhood party. Then go from the Mexican election, to the planet as neighborhood, to the sacred cocoon that extends beyond the planet—all right here in WIP!
